Photography Brief

Voyeurism Essay
-Does the use of the camera automatically turn the photographer into a voyuer ?
-Did pornography start with the invention of photography in 1839 ?
-Is there a difference between watching big brother and say a soap opera on television ?
-Should newspapers publish pictures of starving people etc ??
-How have fashion magazines gradually turned people voyeurs ?
-Does it make a difference whether people pose for a picture or if they are caught unawares ?
-Discuss how the way pictures are displayed might make a difference as to whether the viewer is being voyeuristic ?
-Why do people often stand and stare if there is a road accident ?
-Are we all really veurs all the time ?
-How might you feel to think that you have been caught on camera several times a day ?
-If you have taken pictures of people in te street without them knowing how would you justify this ?
-Is this an intrusion into their privacy ?
-Does it necessarily matter whther or not people are caught on a state of undress as to the voyeuristic nature of the picture ?
-Do media starts deserve to be hounded by paparazzi ?
-Do you think teh way some students dress encourages voyeurism ?
-Conversely do you think some peole are too obessesd with dicating how you should dress ?
-Do you think we are biologically determined to respond to certain visual stimuli ? and is so, should this be celebrated ?
